The OG-FiDO-R is a state of the art, openGear compatible Fiber to 3G-SDI converter, enabling 3G-SDI signals to be extended up to 10 km (32,808 ft) over standard single mode fiber optic cable.

The fiber input is reclocked with best in class input jitter tolerance.

How Fast Is Fido internet

Most devices today support download speeds of 150 – 350 Mbps under Good wifi conditions and a compatible internet package.

Use a direct connection or reduce WiFi signal interference if possible. Connect your computer to your Fido modem using an Ethernet cable for a direct connection if possible.

Try connecting the modem to a different power outlet. If this fails, make sure that you are using the power cable that was provided with the modem.

You are not able to use your own modem , currently the modem Fido uses is the Hitron CODA-4582U.

Is Fido a VOIP

We don’t offer VOIP services.

Does Fido throttle internet

We don’t throttle the speed on our end though the overall speed might vary a bit depending on traffic.

Home internet In November 2015, Fido began to offer cable internet services in selected markets.

How long does it take to activate Fido internet

We activate the service right away so that you can simply plug it in and start using it without having to contact us again.

Keep in mind, the delivery only takes 2-3 days, but if it takes longer let us know and we’ll be happy to credit the difference.

How do I connect to Fido network?

  • Select Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi
  • Select the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to
  • Enter the network password if/when prompted and tap Connect

Does FiDO have Fibre optic

FiDO is a family of SDI/Optical Fiber extenders. FiDO allows the transport of 12G/3G/HD/SD-SDI over distances up to 10km when using standard single mode fiber optic cable with single mode models.

Choose LC, ST, or SC connectors, depending on the converter model. Configure as appropriate with the SFP configurator.

Does Fido have 5G

At this time, Fido does not offer access to a 5G network. However, 5G-ready devices are compatible with Fido’s existing mobile network.

Is Fido part of Rogers network

Although Fido is owned by Rogers, its is a seperate entity of the business.

For Rogers to keep its claim as having the fastest LTE speed, it has to keep Fido’s at a lower speed than its own.

I don’t care who owns who anyways.

Fido is a Canadian mobile network operator owned by Rogers Communications. Since its acquisition by Rogers in 2004, it has operated as a Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) using the Rogers Wireless network.

Why does Fido not have 5G

Welcome to the community! I can understand being excited for the latest technology. Unfortunately, as you note, Fido is concentrating on improving their LTE networks and not currently offering 5G services (see here).

If they do decide to offer it in the future, it will be announced on Fido.ca.

What is the ‘E’ stands for? The speed of the WIFI from Fido is not very fast and it takes like forever to search data The E symbol you’re getting denotes Edge — the data protocol on the 2G (GSM) network.

To clarify, Wifi is used to connect your device to a local area network (LAN) and is not used for mobile data.

At this time, Fido does not offer access to a 5G network.

Why is Fido WIFI so slow

Restart your Fido modem If all devices in your home are experiencing slow internet speeds, the easiest fix is to restart your modem.

You can complete this by unplugging the power cord from the back of the modem for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.

It may take 2-5 minutes for the modem to restart properly.

Can I switch from Fido to Telus

You can transfer any existing phone number to your TELUS Mobility account, including numbers from other carriers and landline numbers.

You can request a number transfer after you have received your device and have set up your My TELUS account.
